Issue: Ethanol

Ethanol should be a case study of how government screws things up and makes things worse with it’s meddling. First of all, this chemical would never survive on it’s own in the free market because it is so costly. Secondly, it doesn’t do what it is supposed to and that is where it should stop.  Since the main stream media has pushed this global warming lie, the government not only subsidizes a fuel that is inefficient, it further adds to the damaging of our environment because of the methods used to make it.

Brazil and the US are the largest producers of Ethanol. Look it up.   Farmers eagerly produce it because there is so much money to be made due to tax breaks and huge government subsidies (your money). There are two huge problems or unintended consequences with this scenario from this government interference. Firstly, It has caused worldwide food price spikes as the demand has increased on corn, which has resulted in many riots in third world countries.  The active ingredient, corn is used in almost everything (animal feed, glue, aspirin, soda, makeup, high fructose Corn syrup and even clothing). Secondly and most destructively, this fools errand requires that farmers clear cut new and expansive swaths of virgin woodlands in order to meet the new demand.

Now, where is the Amazon again?
